Caillech Press was founded in 1989 to provide multicultural, woman-centered materials to a popular audience. We are located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA. The name "caillech" (spelled variously) is a Celtic term meaning "wise woman," sometimes "shape-shifter." Like-sounding words are found within several cultural traditions, for example the Indian goddess Kali.

More than 20,000 people have purchased our three-volume series of quotations, And Then She Said since the first volume was published in 1989. Volume three is still available as is our new poster, Women Writers Around the World.
